Supporting super decision-making

September 25th, 2020

First Super members in your workplace will soon receive their annual member statements. As their employer, how can you help your staff make the right decisions around managing their super?

Get on top of workplace super

With the coronavirus pandemic having an ongoing impact on businesses, you may be finding your superannuation requirements challenging to prioritise or time consuming. Don’t let it get on top of you.

We’re here to provide support when it comes to managing your super obligations.
Simply contact our Employer Services Team or your local Member and Employer
Services Coordinator. They can help you cross the t’s and dot the i’s when it comes to paying super accurately and on time for your workers.

Avoid a tricky situation

Occasionally, your employees may turn to you for guidance on their superannuation.

While you’re able to provide factual information about their default super arrangement, you can’t influence their decision-making or provide advice (unless you hold a Financial Services Licence). Please send them our way instead.

Our team can run your employees through their annual statementtackle any questions they may have about their account or product choices, and even set them up with a First Super Financial Planner# if they’re seeking personal advice for their situation.

Share First Super resources

With workplace restrictions still in force, First Super has adapted by creating more online resources for members.

We recently launched a series of educational videos hosted by our financial planning team. These FIRSTtalk videos bring super subjects to life, including salary sacrifice, planning for retirement, why super matters, and more. Why not share these with your employees?

We’re here to help

If you have any questions or queries, please contact our Employer Services Team on 1300 943 171 or email us.
