A history of strong returns and putting members FIRST

First Super’s average annual return for our Balanced investment option is 8.31% over the last 33 years. Our members can choose their own investment options, depending on their financial goals and risk appetite.

As an Industry SuperFund, we put our members FIRST and all returns are provided to members, not shareholders. We are constantly looking for ways we can improve our offering to members and even reduced our fees further at the end of 2021.

At FIRST, we pride ourselves on the service we provide to our members. With an office located in Mount Gambier, you’re able to come in and talk to our Regional Coordinator about your super questions*.

Financial advice

First Super offers financial advice to all members. From general advice about your super account from our Regional Coordinators and Member Services Team, to comprehensive personal advice from our Financial Planners that looks at super as one part of your wealth management plan*.

We also offer members Super Health Checks. This is a 30-minute service available to all members at no additional cost, that provides you with an overview of how your super is tracking and what you could consider changing in the lead up to retirement.

If you aren’t a member yet, you can ask your Coordinator or our Member Services Team for a comparison instead and find out how your current super fund compares to us.

Products for any stage of life

We don’t just offer products to grow your superannuation savings while you’re working.

We also offer insurance products that can help protect your family if anything should happen to you.

And if you are approaching retirement, we offer Transition to Retirement, which can mean you reduce your work hours while maintaining your income.

For members in retirement, we offer an Allocated Pension. This means you could still receive the Age Pension, while benefitting from a regular stream of income from us.

An Industry SuperFund

First Super is an Industry SuperFund. That means we are run only to benefit our members, not shareholders, so all profits are returned to you.

While our traditional membership base is in the timber, paper and pulp, and cabinetry industries, we have now expanded and work with members from all industries.
